Atom White, 2014-2015 (Dresden Minor Hockey)

Our last three games have come and gone. We had another close game with Dresden Maroon which we won by a score of 5-3. Kylan Casier was crowned Jr. King of the game for his stellar play in net. Daniel Grand had a great game with 2 goals and an assist and Jackson Ross moved back to defence and did a wonderful job protecting Kylan and even blocked a couple shots.

It was a good game in Wallaceburg today. We had a 1-0 lead after the 1st period then we got 3 goals in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd for a 7-1 win over a tough Wallaceburg team. Everyone has bought in to the passing game and it showed today on the ice. Conner Heyink was crowned Jr. King of the game. Conner Heyink 6 points with 3 goals and 3 assists. Honorable mention to Kaiden Gawne also with 6 points also Kylan Casier with a solid game in net. Our next game is on Friday Feb. 27th vs the Maroon team followed by a Fish Fry at the high school.

We had a slow start vs Petrolia on Saturday. They were the hungrier team in the 1st period and had a 4-0 lead after 1 to show for it. The rest of the game was pretty even but we just couldn't mount a comeback. The final score was 7-2 for Petrolia. Clark Manning was crowned Jr. King of the game. He played a great defensive game especially in the 2nd and 3rd slowing down the Petrolia attack. Honorable mention to Lucas Knowler for scoring our 2 goals in the game and Alex Wallace for his hustle and defensive play. What an intense game in Petrolia tonight. It was a close game all the way until the end. We won 5-3.  Adam Gibson scored his first goal of the season to give us the lead early in the 3rd. Adam was crowned Jr. King of the game by the coaches and the players. We are all proud of you Adam. Honorable mention to Kylan Casier on a great game in net facing 35 shots and Conner Heyink with a goal and 2 assists. Alex Wallace wasn't able to play because of a sprained ankle and Jackson Ross stepped in and played great on defense. All around great effort by all. I have to say though,  no matter if we win ...

What an exciting win in Dresden on Saturday over Wallaceburg. The kids played an awesome game. They moved the puck and fore-checked well. Final score was 7-3 for Dresden. Abby Pomajba was crowned Jr. King of the game. She had a goal and an assist. She was all over that puck and made some great passes. Congrats Abby. Keep up the good work. As a team it was one of the best games they have played together. Up next is Petrolia on Monday night. Go Kings Go!
