The Playoffs Are Over
Our last three games have come and gone. We had another close game with Dresden Maroon which we won by a score of 5-3. Kylan Casier was crowned Jr. King of the game for his stellar play in net. Daniel Grand had a great game with 2 goals and an assist and Jackson Ross moved back to defence and did a wonderful job protecting Kylan and even blocked a couple shots.

Our last two was a home and home with Mooretown. Unfortunately we had back to back 9-4 losses to a very strong Mooretown team. Although the scores don’t reflect it the kids played two very good games. The deficit would have been greater if not for the hard work and great goaltending. Ben VanDamme was crowned Jr. King of the first game. He was given the hard task of covering a very good player and he did his very best and impressed the coaches. Kaiden Gawne was crowned Jr. King of the last game. He had 3 goals and an assist. All in all it was a great season. We had two new kids this year in Teagan Yakubowich and Adam Gibson. Both came a long way this season especially Adam who was pretty new to skating as well. Adam scored his first goal ever in a playoff game against a tough Petrolia team. Teagan became a versatile player playing both wing and defence. I had a lot of fun coaching the kids and I like to think they had as much fun as I did. They accomplished a lot as a team and should be proud of themselves. Winning the Mason Berube tournament and being the Silver Champions of the Woolwich Cup in Elmira. Needing a win and getting it with a 1-0 shutout over the South Kent Lightning to get into the Championship round of the playoffs. There was no shortage of excitement with this bunch I tell you. It’s not over yet though. We have the Max Partlo Memorial Tournament March 20-22 in Tilsonburg. Dresden will be well represented with a Novice team, two Atom teams, a PeeWee team and a Bantam team. Let’s Go Kings. Remember Awards night is Wed. March 25 at 7:00.
