Atom Maroon, 2014-2015 (Dresden Minor Hockey)

We finished our season in 4th place!  Great job Dresden Maroon! We had a great weekend at the Tilsonburg Tournament, making it to the Semi-Finals only to go up against our the Dresden White team.  As always another nail bitter that could of went either way, but the White team had luck on their side again.

A tough loss against Mooretown last night.  Team Maroon played extremely well and should be proud of their efforts.  The score did not reflect the game play!  Keep your heads up and lets try again on Saturday.

Our first playoff game against Dresden White was another close one, but we fell short by one goal.  Always a good match between these 2 teams.   Our second game vs Petrolia started off our busy weekend on Friday night.  Our team tried hard but just didn't have enough pull off a win. We played in the Frank Dymock tournament in Wallaceburg on Saturday.  Our first 2 games we lost, the kids tried, but just couldn't get in sync.  We headed back to Wallaceburg in a blizzard for a 8pm Saturday night game, and the kids played great!  We won the game, and it lifted the kids spirit.  As always, ...

We faced the Wallaceburg Lakers this morning with another close match between the two teams.  Wallaceburg was able to sneak one extra goal in to take the win.  Emma chose Marty as Player of the Game, and the whole team and fans celebrated Marty's first goal!  See what happens when you get in there and fight for that puck!   Clark did a great job up front today on forward, and Brayden a got an awesome goal from the point.  Passing of the puck is improving, and showing in our game play.  

First game of the New Year landed us with a 8-1 victory over the Southkent Lightning 1 team.  We switched things up today, and spread lots of points over all the players.  Everyone did a great job moving the puck, and it was great to see lots of passing! We have 2 tournaments coming up in February & March.  The total cost per family is $110.  Please pay the Tuckwells at your earliest convenience.  (sooner than later would be preferred) See everyone at practice on Friday night.  Our next game is not for 2 weeks against Wallaceburg on Jan 17th.
