Atom Rep, 2014-2015 (Dresden Minor Hockey)

Atom Rep Families: Below is the email I sent you all a couple weeks back, here it is again for those that want to read it to their kids. Yesterday I was very disappointed for the boys that we did not bring home the championship, their was nothing I wanted more than to win this tournament and have the boys be champions for the first time in their lives but upon reflection today I realized what champions these boys already are, and here's why:

The Big Chill Our Atom Rep team traveled to Michigan this past weekend for our first tournament of the season "The Big Chill" in Ann Arbor area, Michigan. We won our first 3 games which took us to the semi-final game that we played at Yost Arena where the University of Michigan Hockey Team plays.  It was a very exciting game for the boys, which also ended in a win against Chicago. After 4 straight wins to get to the finals, our Jr Kings couldn't pull off the win over a strong "Select" Florida team.   Players of the games were- Tyler June, Sage Deneau,  Beau Depencier, Blake ...

Saturday's game had Port Stanley in town and the boys put together a great team outing as we sunk the visiting Sailors  7-1. The kids moved the puck extremely well and everyone contributed defensively in helping keep them to just one goal.  We also received a great goal tending performance from Sage. The hard hat was presented to Kayden Nevills for his tenacious, "hard-working" effort at both ends of the ice. Great game boys.  See everyone Tuesday in Ilderton at 7:50. No practice.

On Sunday afternoon the Atom Rep team traveled to South Huron. The result was a 7-1 loss to a good skating South Huron team. The boys had lots of scoring chances throughout the game but in the end a little bit of penalty trouble kept us from providing any consistent offensive pressure. Keep you heads up boys and come ready for practice tomorrow night as we prepare for Saturday's game vs Port Stanley. TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME was Justin Apers.  Justin played a strong game, moving the puck well and battling hard in our end.  Keep up the good work Justin!

Saturday the boys played Belmont at home.  We did not get a win against the top rated team but are showing improvements in a lot of areas of our game. TEAM PLAYER OF THE GAME went to Caden Crawford who is showing great improvements in his shot and defensive play.  Caden had some great plays in the game.  Keep up the great work Caden! See everyone tomorrow night in Wallaceburg  :)
